John Kelly at the Washington Post tracked down Carlos to answer a reader's question about the "great classical music" she remembered from a Riggs Bank commercial she heard growing up.  Carlos tells the story of "Washington Celebration," his first piece of advertising music, which went on to be a breakout success, with a three-minute version released as a 45!  It's a great story not just about the song, but about what it means to compose music for ads, and the ways one opportunity seized can turn into something huge and memorable.

Maggie Prisby from Alexandria, thanks for the walk down memory lane!
