Born in Cleveland, Oh., Kathy moved to Richmond during her high school days. She attended Commonwealth College, and though she refuses to play piano on our sessions, has a deep love for music. Her first job was at Richmond’s Alpha Audio Recording Studios where she later rose to the position of Sales Administrator in Alpha’s acoustic products division. In ’92 she returned to the music business and later became Studio Manager and talent casting coordinator for In Your Ear, a position she holds today. Kathy is also a partner in the company, and is married with two kids. |

Recording Engineer: Paul Bruski Paul is a Michigan import who landed in Richmond around 1987 when his brother asked him to mix live sound at his nightclub. Fresh out of college at Northeast Tech with a degree in audio engineering, Paul was ready for mixing. He joined Alpha Audio and then In Your Ear shortly after IYE opened. Paul helped configure and run IYE’s first Protools room in 1997 and since has racked up numerous credits including movie work on Castlerocks "Hearts in Atlantis", ADR with Anthony Hopkins for Universal Pictures "Hannibal", DVD audio production with Director Ridley Scott on the 2000 Academy Award Winner "Gladiator", ADR for Paramount Pictures "Domestic Disturbance" and sound-design supervisor on Lionheart Filmworks "Wicked Spring". Television projects span The Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, PBS and Showtime. Music projects include GWAR, House Of Freaks, Carbon Leaf, Half Brother Sid and Sad Biscuit Jones. Paul’s hobbies include bashing the drums in his power pop trio and gardening. Paul is credited with growing the hottest peppers in Hanover County. His sauces are available with select lunches exclusively at In Your Ear. |

President, Composer and Keyboards: Carlos Chafin Carlos was born in Portsmouth, VA and has spent most of his life in Virginia. While attending high school, he began music studies at Virginia Commonwealth University while simultaneously working as a keyboard session musician. Later, he became a recording engineer, composer and music producer, leading to career achievements including thousands of commercials, as well as, numerous albums, films and stage productions. Partial credits include playing keyboards and serving as engineer for Fatback Band, The Rolling Stones, Bootsey Colins & George Clinton, Pat Benatar, and Robbin Thompson. Carlos also has a technical side and has designed electronic circuits, software and participated in facility design. His eventual position of V.P. in charge of creative services and studio operations at Alpha Audio in Richmond prepared him for serving as president and co-founder role at In Your Ear in ’91. |

Recording Engineer: Jeff Lampson Originally from Goldsboro, NC, Jeff is the newest member of the In Your Ear staff. He has a degree in Psychology from East Carolina and a degree in Recording Arts from Full Sail School for the Recording Arts. He's a guitar picker composer with good taste, mostly because he's married to the wonderful artist and teacher Windy Lampson. Check out her work on www.windylampson.com. Jeff is an intent and patient engineer, a great listener and wonderful talent. We know you'll enjoy meeting and working with Jeff, a welcome addition to our staff and to the Richmond creative community. |

Receptionist: Nancy Rahn A newcomer to Virginia, Nancy is our second employee from Michigan. Nancy came to IYE from Boise, ID, where her background is actually in the medical field. Her experience with all matters of office work, coupled with her training as a Certified Massage Practitioner, makes her an important cog in the IYE machine. Nancy deals with phone call routing, food, deliveries and assisting with dub routing. Just remember, she’s the one answering phones without the southern accent. |

Chief Operating Officer: Terry Stroud Terry is a long time Richmonder and even attended The University of Richmond. After college, he became co-owner of a film production company that shot award winning broadcast campaigns and documentary films for such clients as Virginia Tourism and Care International. He gravitated over to the post production part of the business in 1991 when he joined in the planning of In Your Ear. While at his present post, Terry has spearheaded the development of IYE’s new facility, developed new client services using existing resources (including Internet based services) and is active in new business development. Terry is the current President of The Virginia Production Services Association, Inc and serves as a registered lobbyist to The Virginia General Assembly on film and production industry initiatives. |

Vice President, Vocalist, Guitarist and Song Writer: Robbin Thompson Born in Boston, Robbin was raised in Melbourne Florida. When his family moved to Seattle, he moved to Richmond. He signed on as lead vocalist for an early Bruce Springsteen band called Steelmill while attending Virginia Commonwealth University where he graduated with a B.S. in Advertising Communications. Merging his advertising and musical pursuits by writing music for advertising, Robbin has racked up a very long list of national advertising credits. He is also is two-time winner of the American Song Festival, co-author of "Sweet Virginia Breeze" (sometimes referred to as the "Unofficial State Song of Virginia"), has released eight albums on major and independent labels, created music for stage and screen and is an Equity Actor. As a Co-founder of In Your Ear, he sums up the past ten years by musing, "I’ve sung more commercials than I can possibly remember". |
